The Pitch for Payback
Title:
The Payback
Genre:
Crime/Murder Mystery- We picked this genre as its a simple idea, and sometimes simplicity gives a huge effect. There are not many people in our group so we decided to make a plot with only three characters! Also this is a very popular genre in the film/TV industry therefore it'll attract a bigger audience.
Form:
A short 2 minute film opening to engage the audience.
Location:
The film will be filmed at:
Characters:
Mr.Jake Kensington(the one who gets murdered)- Jake Cowie will be playing as him.
Detective Ford(the interrogator)- Hope Fashina will be playing as her.
James Grey(the culprit)-James Borg-Clancy will be playing as him.
Plot:
It starts with the richest man in Kent (Jake Kensington) walking home from a hard day at work when all of a sudden a hooded figure (James Grey) jumps him from behind and throws him to the floor. Then he repeatedly stabs him in the back. Someone reports Jake Kensington missing after about two weeks of looking for him, Detective Ford discovers his rotting corpse berried in a forest. CCTV cameras reveals that James Grey entered the forest around the same time Jake got reported missing. A couple of days later James Grey was arrested and he is now being interrogated by Detective Ford who is trying to make him confess for his crimes. Unfortunately there is no evidence claiming that James committed the crime, so he is released but kept an close eye on!Be fore James leaves he suggests a different person who might of committed the crime- Jake's butler.
Camerawork:
The 180 degree rule- this is the rule that you can only have a 180 degree angle shoot in the photo and the video so that the people aren't opposite and the audience will not get confused.
Shot reverse shot- this is a shot on one character then the recording is cut and then started on a different character then back to the first character.
Match on action- this is a shot of something happening and the an action to match the shot e.g. someone opening a door and then the camera will be record
